If you've tried ChatGPT or another AI tool for your marketing and thought "this sounds like every other business", you're not alone. The fix is usually the prompt, not the tool.
Here's a simple formula we teach clients. Call it R-A-C-E.
R: Role
Tell the AI who it is writing as. "You are the social media manager for a family-run bakery in Ipoh known for traditional kuih and friendly service."
A: Audience
Say exactly who will read it. "Our customers are working parents aged 30 to 45 who buy for family gatherings and office treats."
C: Content and context
Give the facts the AI can't guess: the product, the offer, the dates, the price. "Promote our Deepavali kuih box, RM48 for 20 pieces, pre-order by 25 October, pickup or delivery within Ipoh."
E: Examples and expectations
Paste two or three of your past posts that performed well and say what you want back. "Write 3 Facebook captions under 60 words each, warm and casual, one in Bahasa Malaysia, with one emoji maximum."
Put it together
When you combine all four, the AI has what it needs to sound like you, not like a template. Save your best prompts in a document so your team can reuse them every week.
Two rules we always follow
- A human approves before posting. AI drafts, people decide.
- Check every fact. Prices, dates and claims must come from you, never from the AI's imagination.
